LOCATION: Green Bay Campus
HOURS: Flexible 24 hours per week, primarily at NWTC GB East. Potential for one evening until 7pm. This is a limited term, grant funded position (WTCS Enrollment Leadership Grant) that ends June 30, 2024.
MINIMUM STARTING RATE OF PAY: $19.68/hour
SUMMARY
The Hispanic Outreach Specialist is a limited term, grant funded position that supports the retention and completion of Hispanic students. This role is designed to build relationships and identify resources to support Hispanic students. This position will collaborate with the Green Bay East location staff and the Hispanic Student Support Specialist to offer access to students on the east side of Green Bay and reach out to students who may benefit from additional support.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Collaborate with staff to build on the assets and meet the retention needs of Hispanic students.
- Collaborate with teams across the College to develop and strengthen relationships with agencies and organizations in our community connected to Hispanic populations across the district.
- Connect students as needed with resources across the College and offer high-level information about resources and processes from enrollment through graduation.
- Coach students on academic and career concerns; provide support for students on personal concerns.
- Use data to implement an outreach plan for Hispanic students. Assist and collaborate with internal partners on plans for campus events for Hispanic students including any potential student organizations.
- Assist in development and implement retention strategies for Hispanic students.
- Provide supportive services (case management); advise Hispanic students with identifying obstacles and barriers that may interfere with their educational goals. Help students explore options for overcoming these anticipated obstacles and/or barriers, including providing appropriate referrals to college and community resources, assisting with resolving questions and concerns on academic policies, procedures, and standards, and educating students on how to use the appropriate College resources to accomplish academic goals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associate Degree
Experience: 2 years of related experience. Direct occupational experience in education, or social service occupations preferred.
