Responsibilities

Successful candidates are expected to develop research programs that are internationally recognized with significant and sustained funding, incorporate interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across campus, and demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and excellence in education. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral researchers, and participating in college and professional service are expected.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in industrial engineering, computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline, and demonstrate documented potential for outstanding research. Areas of particular interest include Physics-Informed Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence, supporting Advanced Manufacturing and Scientific Discovery. Candidates with strong backgrounds in data science with applications to other areas are also considered.

The Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at the Florida A&M University (FAMU)-Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a tenure-track faculty position in Data Science and Machine Learning. We are seeking faculty candidates for an assistant professor position; however, exceptional candidates will be considered for higher ranks. The anticipated appointment time is Fall 2024.
