Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Social Work
Erikson Institute, a premier graduate school in child development, early childhood education, and social work, is seeking to hire 2 tenure-track assistant professors with well-developed research agendas inclusive of equity and justice. Erikson’s CSWE-accredited MSW program is developmentally-informed and relationship-based, with a focus on reflective practice. The program offers two areas of specialized practice: Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Clinical Practice with Children, Adolescents, and Adults. We seek a deeply collaborative colleague to engage in dynamic teaching online and in person, impactful research with disinvested communities, and innovative program development.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strength in scholarship, teaching, community engagement, potential for mentoring MSW and PhD students, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and racial, social, and economic justice. They will have a defined area of social work practice which has the potential to significantly impact the field.
This is a ten-month position, including funded time for research and scholarship. The position includes teaching a 2/2 course load per academic year, mentoring students, and engaging in program service activities, including committees, curriculum development, and program planning. This position is tenure track at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- An earned MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program A DSW in social work or Ph.D in social work or closely aligned field by position start date At least two years of social work practice experience beyond the M.S.W. degree preferably with children, adolescents, and families Expertise or interest in curricular innovations prioritizing social justice Ability to teach in a core curriculum area (e.g., research methods, clinical practice, policy) A scholarly record of research presentations and publications Highest ethical standards Ability to promote collaborative and positive relationships with faculty, staff, students Experience working with ethnically, racially, and culturally diverse populations
- Defined area of social work practice which has the potential to significantly impact the field Successful record of university teaching online and in person Capacity and interest to engage in program evaluation and ongoing improvement Demonstrated record for external funding Successful experience and expertise in graduate student mentoring and advisement
