Job Description:

Intramural sports officials are responsible for all gameday operations
surrounding intramural leagues, tournaments, and other programs. This
will include but is not limited to: interpretation and enforcement of rules
during gameplay, appropriate field/court and equipment set-up, facilitation
and guidance of all participants to ensure a safe and successful gameday
event.

Job Duties:

  • Organize and officiate intramural sporting events and games

  • Manage players and flow of intramural sporting events and games

  • Perform physical aspects of officiating intramural events, contest, and games

  • Interpret and monitor participant behaviors and enforcement of sports and spectator rules and regulations

  • Exhibit positive behavior and maintain courteous and respectful working relationships with all intramural sports participants, coaches, spectators, and volunteers

  • Follow all Physical Education and Recreation Department policies and procedures

  • Able to attend in house training sessions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One or more year(s) experience in understanding of the sport program

  • Knowledge of all rules and regulations associated with the officiated sport

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • Possess effective decision-making skills

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, and staff

  • Physical effort required, including but not limited to: lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking. A pre-employment post offer physical exam will be required of the selected candidate.

  • Hold a valid CPR/first aid card and/or be willing to obtain/renew card through certified agency
