Position SummaryThis is a 15% time position.
The successful candidate will develop up to 8 new Educational Modules (30–60-minute segments to accommodate provider requests for brevity) in Year 1. The content will be developed and delivered via presentation/webinars. Additional content will be developed in years 2-3, based on provider survey results and results of consultations.
Educational Modules/Presentations/webinar content will be developed by MSU faculty member with expertise in mental health conditions, targeting the “next gen” providers in primary care, emergency services and/or subspecialty practices. The webinars will be developed with content that is both racially and culturally sensitive to the needs of families with input from the family and youth representatives on the Advisory Committee.
The webinars will be recorded and then made available for convenience viewing for providers by posting them on the MC3 website. Availability of online viewing will ensure broader dissemination beyond the project period.
The MC3 Community Partners will arrange for CME, as appropriate. A provider survey will be developed assessing knowledge and confidence with regard to content domains for distribution pre-post webinar for participants.
Webinars, Grand Rounds and other presentation opportunities for improving the knowledge and competencies of “next gen” primary care providers in the following topics, based on feedback from the MC3 Community Advisory Committee and MC3 Community Providers include, but not limited to the following topics:
- trauma and trauma-informed care
- autism, identification and referral for testing, intervention
- Substance Use Disorders in Adolescents, identification and treatment approaches
- self-injurious behaviors
- Suicide and Safety Planning
- Disenfranchised Populations and Cultural Competence
