The East Carolina University College of Nursing (ECUCON) seeks applicants for a full time tenure-track faculty position. Academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications of the applicant.
The ECUCON has over 500 graduate students including over 100 DNP and 35 PhD students. The College of Nursing is a part of the Academic Affairs Division includes Allied Health, Dental Science, and a School of Medicine committed to excellence in teaching and scientific inquiry. Additionally, strong interprofessional research opportunities exist in varied centers and institutes within the division and university, such as the Center for Health Disparities, North Carolina Agro-Medicine Institute, and Diabetes and Obesity Institute.
The College of Nursing is seeking a RN/BSN faculty to be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the RN/BSN option. All courses are offered through a distance education format. Courses may be writing intensive and may have a focus on domestic or global diversity and may include service learning. Faculty may also be asked to teach courses in other options and College of Nursing departments depending upon teaching needs and expertise of the faculty. The faculty will report directly to the Director of the RN/BSN option in the Department of Baccalaureate Education.Minimum Education/Experience :
Specific responsibilities include:
• Planning, teaching and evaluating primarily online RN/BSN courses.
• Collaborate with all RN/BSN faculty and director to continuously evaluate and revise, as necessary, the courses and curriculum based on current evidenced-based practice.
• Ensures that RN/BSN students are evaluated for various course and program outcomes.
• Teaches selected courses in area of expertise.
Responsibilities for Tenure Track position include:
Maintaining an active program of research in an area relevant to the mission of the college.
Establishing a funded program of research.
Producing scholarly works, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations at state, national, and/or international levels.
Teaching, developing, and evaluating relevant courses within the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.
Providing academic advisement and research mentorship to students.
Participating in shared governance through college and university-level committee work.
PhD, EdD, DSc, or equivalent research doctorate from an appropriately accredited institution is required to be eligible for this tenure-track. Clinical doctorates are not eligible at this time.Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :
Evidence of a developed or developing research trajectory.
Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
A valid non-restricted North Carolina registered nurse license is required upon employment.Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :
