The University of Miami School of Law seeks part time faculty position for its forthcoming online Master of Legal Studies program. Specifically, seeks creative and innovative practitioners who are interested in developing and teaching online courses on introduction to law and regulation, compliance skills and risk management, as well as subject matter experts in a variety of areas, including healthcare law and compliance, cyber law and information privacy, AI and the law, real estate and construction law, and more. The courses, which are aimed at non-lawyers, will be taught predominantly asynchronously (not via Zoom or in real-time) but in a highly interactive manner and will be developed with one-on-one help from an in-house instructional designer.
Minimum requirements are a JD degree and 2 years of experience or comparable expertise.
Please include your resume, a cover letter connecting your experience to the job and a description of your teaching interest with your application. Subject area expertise is a floor, not a ceiling. Applications that do not include a cover letter or note highlighting the applicant’s teaching experience or expressing detailed teaching interest will not be reviewed.
Given the nascent stage of the programs, preference will be given, at this juncture, to those with asynchronous, online teaching experience but we will keep resumes on file for future use, so feel free to apply even without significant online teaching experience.
