Position Summary Through leadership by example, provide instruction, administer authentic assessments, and foster an active learning environment that is focused on student foundational competence, success, retention, and completion.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Participate as a productive member of a team.Maintain college learning resources and equipment.Participate in recruitment and retention activities.Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with:AutoCAD, CREO, SolidworksDrafting Standards (ASME 14 Series)GD&T Standards (ASME 14.5)Advanced 3D Modeling (Complex surfacing and Sweeps)Knowledge and experience with:Calculating stressSpecifying materials and sizesDesigning mechanical systems such as columns, vessels, beams, and trussesModeling motion mathematicallyModeling mechanical systemsProduct design and manufacturingDemonstrated working knowledge of programmatic discipline, curriculum development, effective teaching/learning principles, and evaluation.Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal cues.Strong customer service skills which include working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines.Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment.Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors).Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems.Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervisionAbility to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs. Knowledge of and familiarity with videoconferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.Required Education and Experience B.S. Degree related to the field of Mechanical Engineering TechnologySeven (7) years of verifiable occupational experience as a fully qualified worker in the occupational area, of which 2,000 hours shall be within the previous five yearsSupplemental Information

The Instructor - Mechanical Design/Engineering Technology position is part of the Manufacturing Technologies department in the School of Applied Technology, and will report to the Associate Dean.

There is one vacancy available . This is a full-time instructor position that will teach on a flexible year-round calendar. Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends. The position will be posted until filled.

Salary is commensurate of experience and is listed to the midpoint of the range on the 23/24 table as of 07/01/2023.
