Job Summary:
Post-doctoral fellow position available to study role of modulators of T-type (low-voltage-activated) calcium channels in native tissue preparations and in recombinant cells. Our research involves biophysical techniques to measure membrane currents (whole-cell voltage-clamp and current-clamp recordings) from the human embryonic kidney (HEK) cells, dorsal root ganglion neurons and dorsal horn neurons in wild-type rats and mice, as well as mice lacking subtypes of T-type calcium channels.

Perform recordings of optogenetically evoked synaptic currents in acute spinal cord slice preparation. Perform pharmacological experiments in acute spinal cord slice preparation. Analyze the data. Write scientific manuscripts.
