The Dean for Student Success provides leadership for the development of strategic initiatives, within a Guided Pathways Framework, designed to improve institutional retention and completion outcomes. Strategic initiatives include but are not limited to: Educational and career attainment plans, academic advising, first year experience including new student orientation, career experience, and reenrollment management. This position partners with Instructional Deans, Dean of Enrollment, Deans of Student and Community Engagement, The Center for Teaching and Learning, Institutional Research and their teams to build a comprehensive plan to improve student attainment.

- Integrates the Guided Pathways Framework throughout the College partnering with Instruction, Enrollment, Student and Community Engagement and others to ensure students can choose a clearly-defined Area of Interest, can enter the Area of Interest with few barriers, and can complete the program map in a timely manner.
- Works closely with the Dean of Enrollment Services to provide and enhance synergistic relationships between enrollment and reenrollment.
- Analyzes and evaluates persistence, progression, retention and completion data to inform the comprehensive retention and completion plan development.
- Leads college initiatives for developing, implementing and assessing: advising services, first year experience, new student orientation, career experience, reenrollment management and educational and career attainment plans.
- Prepares budget proposals; establishes expenditure controls and recommends the allocation of resources within the limitations of the budget.
- Supervises the hiring and training of full-time and part-time employees.
- Ensures professional development of employees within the department.
- Serve on various College committees and partakes in a variety of meetings and conferences.
- Develops and maintains community partnerships to increase attainment levels of Mohave County residents.
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Minimum:
- Master's Degree required, Doctorate preferred in education, leadership, or some other student success related field.
- Five years of progressive higher education work experience in student success, retention and completion management.
- Documented evidence of retention/student success/completion plan development.
- Three to five years of supervisory experience.
- Evidence of continual professional development in the retention, student success, completion fields.
