SENIOR VICE CHANCELLOR FOR OPERATIONS AND STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION
The University of Denver (DU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Senior Vice Chancellor (SVC) for Operations and Strategy Implementation (OSI).
Founded in 1864, the University of Denver is a private, doctoral-granting university with very high research activity, earning R1 status in 2022. DU enrolls approximately 6,100 undergraduate students and 7,500 graduate students. The University has become increasingly known, nationally and internationally, for its creative, 21st-century approaches to problem-based scholarship, as well as its holistic, student-centered approach to learning known as the 4D Experience, and its dedication to the public good through local, national, and international partnerships. The University has total annually budgeted revenues of $540 million and total endowment assets near $1 billion as of March 2023. In FY 2022, the University raised $105 million in annual giving commitments. FY 2022 sponsored research expenditures exceeded $41 million.
The Senior Vice Chancellor for Operations and Strategy Implementation functions as the Chief Operating Officer for the University and a key member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, working closely with leadership to develop operational policies that deliver the resources, services, and facilities necessary for the continued advancement of the University of Denver. This position will serve as a key partner to the Chancellor in executing strategic initiatives established by the board, including the Chancellor’s Five Strategic Imperatives, as well as overseeing the annual plan of work for the Cabinet. The SVC for OSI is tasked with advancing strategic planning into operational reality.
The SVC for OSI will oversee a considerable portfolio of responsibilities including leadership, strategy, supervision, operations, and comprehensive assessment. The SVC for OSI will serve as a thought partner to the Chancellor in developing and implementing operational policy in direct support of DU’s mission. Driving the success of the five strategic imperatives, the SVC for OSI provides leadership to eight core administrative areas including the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX, Department of Campus Safety, Conferencing & Event Services, Office of Enterprise Risk Management, Office of Human Resources and Inclusive Community, Information Technology, Office of the Ombuds, and the James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus.
