Responsibilities: The Associate Provost is part of a leadership team which ensures the academic quality and integrity of the undergraduate and graduate programs. The position will focus work on key academic initiatives within the newly approved 2023-2028 strategic plan including supporting and promoting general education curricular innovation with an emphasis on the strategic plans guiding principles of DEIJ+, sustainability, global outlook, and sense of place. The position will work closely with others on the leadership team to enhance faculty and staff development opportunities and career mobility for all students with special attention to those from diverse ethnic, racial, economic, and geographic backgrounds as well as represent the Office of the Provost in shared-governance committees and internal/external meetings.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree and a minimum of 5 years of senior academic leadership or comparable experience. Successful candidates will have
- Demonstrated record of resourceful and effective approach to major tasks and ability to bring projects to timely completion.
- Grant writing and management.
- Leadership, organizational, and management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and shifting priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with higher education processes for hiring, training, evaluating, and promoting faculty.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, critical thinking, and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate using Office 365 and other tools for team projects.
- Strong ability to use video meeting software for administrative and teaching purposes.
- Experience working as a supervisor in administrative leadership roles in higher education.
- Higher education teaching
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and sensitivity to issues affecting a wide range of constituencies are required. A record of inclusive conduct and evidence of multicultural skills in the workplace is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have
- Evidence of entrepreneurial approaches, innovation, and ability to adapt to change.
- Experience with creating and delivering higher education programs online and in a residential or blended modality.
- Workday experience and/or other software used on campus associated with academics, advising, grants, donors, career services.
- Proven ability to be effective in an interdisciplinary team environment. and demonstrated expertise in working with faculty and staff with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience with developing grants, programs and/or partnerships.
- Strong ability to use video meeting software for administrative and teaching purposes.
- Conflict resolution and change management
Compensation: The annual salary range is $95,000 – $107,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications) and is FLSA exempt. The position is eligible for an excellent benefits package including health and dental insurance plans with low co-pays and low out-of-pocket maximums, generous paid time off, a shared contribution retirement plan, and (following one year of employment) tuition benefits. Professional development is valued, encouraged, and supported. Additional benefits of employment include four weeks of paid vacation with an additional eleven paid state holidays. This is primarily an on-campus, in-person position.
