Provides management for the Dental Hygiene program including program planning, staffing, management, coordination and evaluation. Provides instruction to post-secondary students in assigned content areas and other related activities. The incumbent will be working an 11 month contract.
Typical Job FunctionsPerforms managerial duties relating to the administration of the dental hygiene programHires adjunct faculty, part-time clinical staff and oversight dentist according to program needs Supervises faculty and staff within the dental hygiene program and evaluates current and future personnel needs and performs yearly performance evaluations for direct reportsReviews and approves leave requests, travel requests, and time-entry Manages the program budget and provides yearly budget requests to the Department Chair Tracks, purchases, approves, and reviews purchases of supplies and equipment Maintains equipment used in the program and plans for future program equipment needs collaboratively with other dental programs Works collaboratively with other dental programs to coordinate course schedules, clinical schedules, equipment needs etc. Manages clinic operations collaboratively with other dental programs Provides instruction to students in assigned dental hygiene courses and develops related instructional materials (such as syllabus, lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others)Participates in statewide, college-level, and program-level planning and curriculum developmentEnsures dental hygiene course, program and institutional assessments and reviews are completed and submitted by appropriate deadlines Organizes and manages dental hygiene advisory committees to include: recommending members for committee appointment, holding meetings at least biannually, implementing recommendations, etc.Serves as a student advisor for dental hygiene students Participates in recruiting for the programDevelops and maintains good relationships with community stakeholders and other dental hygiene program managers statewide Maintains program accreditation and performs all tasks related to program accreditationParticipates in college-wide accreditation tasksProvides leadership within the College and community by promoting the mission and goals of the CollegeMaintains consistent office hoursAttends in-service meetings each semesterAttends graduation ceremoniesParticipates on campus committees Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsA Master's Degree from an accredited institution Graduate of a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)Unencumbered Dental Hygiene License 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist1-3 years instructional experienceIncumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn’t sponsor H-1B Visas)
