SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Adjunct Faculty in the Exercise Science and Health Division is responsible for providing instruction for potential class sections in the following areas: exercise science, health, physical education, and sport management; and work with full-time faculty to deliver the approved curriculum.
ADJUNCT FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. An Adjunct Faculty member is expected to prepare in-person and/or online instruction for EXS/HEA/PED courses that align with the established learning outcomes.
B. Adjunct Faculty members are expected to communicate student learning outcomes data from each course to the lead faculty member or the division director to assist in the completion of the Student Learning Outcome Assessment (SLOA) reports.
C. Adjunct Faculty member should be committed to student learning and success, by being available and helping students as needed.
D. An Adjunct Faculty member is expected to use campus resources to develop the technology skills required to perform instructor duties and communicate in the campus community.
E. Adjunct Faculty members are expected to adhere to the guidelines and calendars established by the Office of Academic Affairs to perform all administrative duties associated with all courses.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Master’s Degree in the areas of Exercise Science, Health, Physical Education, Athletic Training or a related field. Instructor certification for CPR/AED/First Aid through either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. National Strength and Conditioning certification, or similar certification recommended.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual will display strong oral, written and interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with students, other faculty, directors and administrators. Must also possess the ability to develop and deliver curricula for active instruction integrated across multiple platforms and have up-to-date technology skills including integrated learning through a learning management system.

Hagerstown Community College (HCC) was founded in 1946 as the first of its kind in Maryland. More than 100 programs of study are available for university transfer, career preparation, and personal enrichment. HCC also offers non-credit continuing education courses and customized training programs, as well as remedial and developmental courses to help students prepare for college-level offerings. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, HCC awards associate degrees, certificates, and letters of recognition.
HCC employs approximately 540 individuals each year in full and part-time positions. Hundreds of student workers and campus volunteers also serve the campus community.
