Job Title:Deputy Athletic Director and Chief of StaffHours Per Week:
Responsible for managing the daily administrative operations to include: business and finance, student support services, short and long term planning, contractual agreements, Human Performance and Wellness integration, and the daily operations of the Miami University Department of Athletics.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Direct supervisor for all members of ICA senior staff.
Responsible for integration and combination of strength and conditioning and sports medicine to Human Performance and Wellness, including day-to-day administration and oversight.
Serves as sport administrator for Miami Football.
Administers business operations including supervising the annual budgeting process, ensuring compliance with university expenditure policies and procedures, oversight of contractual agreements, and preparing long term budget projections and annual closing reports for the Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Services, University Treasurer and Athletic Director.
Assists the Athletic Director with the daily administration of strategic planning for the Athletic Department and all Head Coach searches.
Administers sports program(s) as assigned.
Works closely with the Bursar's Office, General Counsel, Housing, Dining, Recreation and Business Services, Human Resources, and Student Affairs.
Oversees student support services as assigned.
Serves on the senior administrative staff of the Department of Athletics, will oversee coaches meetings and ICA coaches committee, while also providing additional services as requested by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum of 8 years related experience, which must include experience in athetic operations
Experience in hiring, supervising and managing staff
Experience negotiating and managing contractual agreements
NCAA head coaching experience
NCAA athletic director experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and promote an inclusive work environment
Demonstrated ability of expertise in financial management
Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience with the ability to manage multiple operational and administrative activities related to the athletics industry
