Provides career counseling services and program delivery to undergraduates, graduate students and alumni as a member of the Career Counseling & Programs team within The Center for Career Development. Administers and interprets career inventories, informs and engages students in the process of career development, and supports the development of informed decision-making skills. Facilitates career-related workshops, programs and events and provides up-to-date career information with an emphasis on identifying the most effective strategies for a successful job or internship search as well as potential graduate school pursuits.

The College of Communication is seeking a Career Counselor candidate who:

  • Has 3-5 years of experience working with college-aged individuals;
  • Has experience in career counseling or coaching;
  • Has experience with program delivery and development or teaching;
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrates the ability to build rapport with a diverse group of constituents (for example students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers, colleagues, etc.);
  • Is organized, and;
  • Shows strong attention to detail. A masters degree in counseling or a related field is preferred, but not required for consideration.
