Organizational Unit Overview:The mission of the college is to serve as a national model for transforming the health
of rural under-served regions through excellence and innovation in nursing education,
leadership, research, scholarship and practice.
The East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for
a faculty position with strong expertise in community health nursing. Faculty
responsibilities include planning, teaching and evaluating primarily face-to-face
theory, lab and clinical courses. The position may also involve the
direct supervision of students in clinical settings. Preference will be given to
applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in community health nursing.
Tenure track positions require a doctorate in nursing or related field, from an
appropriately accredited institution. Non-tenure requires a Master’s degree in nursing
from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid non-restricted North Carolina
nursing license is required upon employment. Two years of community health nursing
experience is required.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :A PhD in Nursing is preferred or a closely related discipline with a graduate degree in
nursing.
Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in
community health nursing.
Teaching experience and national specialty certification is preferred.
