Job Details
This nine-month, tenure-track appointment begins in August 2023.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach genetics, molecular biology, introductory biology and non-majors science courses. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduates that attracts external funding. Other responsibilities include professional activity, and service to both the University and community. The faculty member will be required to evaluate and use current technology in courses and to maintain a positive educational relationship with students and colleagues. Other duties include academic advising, curriculum development, and committee service and performing other duties required to meet organizational needs.
Candidates must possess a doctorate in genetics or molecular biology or a related field. Course development and curriculum design experience as well as evidence of a commitment to develop an extramural-funded research program that will offer experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate students. Candidates with an interest in research addressing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) are encouraged to apply. a . Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach with technology. Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills are also desirable.
