General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Coordinator Online Learning Support, under the direction of the Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development, and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs related to faculty support of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other digital platforms that support teaching and learning. May interpret departmental policies for area of responsibility.

Job Function:

Provide tier three Learning Management System support to end-users via phone, e-mail, or in person. Provide tier one support of other University digital learning platforms and services. Supervise and train team of part-time staff that support digital platforms. Regularly reports to the Assistant Director of Online Learning on support metrics and LMS requests.

Develop and maintain internal documentation regarding software and services for departmental use. Develop and implement processes and procedures for supporting faculty using supported systems or services. Develop plans for application upgrades and implementation of new functionality of the LMS and other online learning software. Test new features, tools, and system upgrades. Validate upgrade results. Collaboration with Coordinator of Training to develop documentation for end users that supports their use of multiple systems. Coordinate with vendors regarding tools implemented into the Learning Management System. Collaborate with IT partners on implementation of integrated tools. Attend LMS Team meetings. Properly document and record all activities and work performed. Regularly reports to the Assistant Director of Online Learning on support metrics and LMS requests. Other duties as assigned.

Occasional night and weekend virtual support with flextime.

Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two years of experience directly related to the job functions.

Preference shown to applicants who meet the required qualifications and also possess the following:
• Experience with Learning Management Systems, Canvas preferred.
• Customer support experience, especially in technical support or any problem-solving field.
• Experience with technical documentation, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Willingness to contribute to process improvements.
• Experience with project development and planning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Teams and SharePoint, all common web browsers, Windows and Mac OS, and mobile platforms.
• Superior problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Management, teaching, or workshop leading experience.
• Interest in emerging technologies and educational software.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new software and stay current with technological trends.
• Innovative, agile mindset, willing to work outside of one’s comfort zone in a fast-paced technical environment.
