Responsibilities and Duties

·         Answer calls to the TU main telephone line; transfer callers to the appropriate extension; provide answers to frequently asked questions.

·         Greet visitors to the Administration Building while answering questions as necessary.

·         Provide directions to the visitor’s destination; provide the public with information regarding a wide range of subjects, including scheduled campus events, hours of operation, academic calendar, university closing, etc.

·         Maintain and update telephone information records; assist HR Customer Service desk and other divisional colleagues in a variety of administrative duties.



Qualifications and Skills

·         Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

·         Have two years of experience providing administrative support.

·         Have strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be interested in and attentive to cross-cultural communication.

·         Possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous, respectful and efficient manner.

·         Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and effectively prioritize key tasks, shifting to higher priority if needed.

·         Be able to pay attention to key details, be able to multi-task and possess strong organizational and time management skills to meet required deadlines.

·         Be a team player with a strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality.

·         Actively contribute to the office welfare in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

·         Demonstrate familiarity and proficiency with the use of technology, a variety of software programs and standard office equipment.

·         Willingness to be creative, develop efficient practices and systems and learn new skills.

Preferred...

·         Experience in a Higher Education environment.

·         Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
