Position Description

The Administrative Assistant I (Career Services & Workforce Development) acts as a liaison between office staff and Stark State College students, external and internal stakeholders, has excellent customer service and provides support to coworkers.

Typical Hours of Work:
Typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
As we sometimes serve students outside of these hours, the right candidate must be willing to flex hours to cover events outside of normal business hours, as needed.

If you are a problem solver who has excellent communication skills and impeccable attention for detail this position would be a great fit. In addition to these skill sets, an ability to multitask, manage complex schedules, and meet changing deadlines is essential to the position.

Typical Responsibilities Include:
Serves as the first point of contact for a fast paced office by greeting individuals, providing information, answering questions directed via various modes (telephone, e-mail, in person), and responding to requests.

Performs a variety of routine to moderately complex administrative office functions that require an understanding of departmental or divisional operations and policies in support of the department. Coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and efficient work flow. Establishes and maintains efficient filing systems and office organization. Maintains good working relationships with other areas of the college to ensure accurate reporting and coordination of activities. Exercises good judgment and discretion when handling confidential items or providing information to employees, students, or the public.

To be Considered You'll Need:
High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications (although not required):
Associates' degree in office administration or a related field is preferred.
