technology questions and problems reported. Front line support is provided in person, on the phone and responding to chat or
ticket requests. Individual with be responsible for troubleshooting and triaging computer hardware and software issues,
loading software, configuring computer software, peripherals, and mobile devices, and providing support for a large number of
applications.
Essential Functions:
Qualifications
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferably candidate with bachelor's degree. One to two years of experience in desktop computer support (both Mac and PC platforms) and customer support experience via phone is required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must have knowledge of basic application support for specialized applications pertaining to client computer install and support. Candidate must demonstrate strong ability to learn new technologies and apply knowledge in support of customers. Excellent troubleshooting, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.Candidate with solid understanding of SMU supported software applications (Microsoft Operating System and Office Suite, Apple Operating system standard applications, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and other applications deployed on the SMU campus) is preferred.Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. This position would require some evening shifts during the work week and possible shifts on either Saturday or Sunday.
This employee would also be on call approximately 3 weeks out of the year for after hour emergencies.Physical and Environmental Demands:
