Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.

Based in the UCD Laboratory for Advanced Manufacturing Simulation and Robotics (LAMS), the Resilience to Address Medicines Shortages for Patients (ReAMPS) project is funded through the Digital for Resilience Challenge under the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) National Challenge Fund. The overarching goal of the Digital for Resilience Challenge is to enhance Ireland's capabilities in crisis prediction and response.

Medicines shortages are a threat to healthcare systems and negatively impact on patient care. ReAMPS will develop digital tools to enable policy makers to be better able to predict medicines shortages and to understand the impact of various mitigation and contingency approaches to enhance resilience.

This Research Assistant role will be focused on the initial Concept Phase of the project and involve organising stakeholder focus groups and interviews, problem identification and data collection related to medicines shortages. The Research Assistant is also expected to conduct literature reviews and identify practices that are adopted in other countries to benchmark against those within Ireland.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

Salary Range: 29,275 - 39,158 Per Annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
