Applications are invited for a Permanent post of a Technical Officer within UCD School of Chemistry.

The School of Chemistry at University College Dublin wishes to appoint a Technical Officer with a starting date in late summer 2023. This is a permanent, full-time position based at the School of Chemistry in the O'Brien Centre for Science on the Belfield Campus. The School of Chemistry offers five Honours Degree BSc programmes: the traditional BSc in Chemistry; a BSc in Medicinal Chemistry & Chemical Biology; a BSc in Chemistry with Sustainable and Environmental Chemistry; a BSc in Chemistry with Biophysical Chemistry; and a BSc in Chemistry, Mathematics & Education, as well as two taught Masters programmes, and it contributes modules to several other programmes. These programmes include a wide range of practical classes and activities in organic, medicinal, inorganic and physical chemistry and the successful candidate will contribute to the organisation, setup and operation of these busy, state-of-the-art undergraduate laboratories and to contribute to the development of new experiments and teaching resources. The role may also include the management and operation of instrumentation and other technical functions as the need arises.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
