Job Summary:

Part-Time Temporary Technical Registration Assistant. To provide district-wide student registration assistance (credit and noncredit).

Essential Functions:

Assess incoming calls received on the registration phone line to determine appropriate action. Explain, direct, and assist callers with registration preparation requirements including admission (guest, degree seeking and non-credit), program changes, entry and math assessments (ALEKS and Accuplacer), district-wide orientation (time-ticketing) information. Explain all non-departmental processes or procedures that affect registration eligibility including payment, financial aid, attendance, academic standing, course/program restrictions, course waitlist, honors, and other special programs. Process credit and non-credit registration requests (Including court mandated) such as: drop/withdrawal, add, waitlist, reinstatements. Provide information for other student records services including transcript and enrollment verification requests; name/address changes; understand imaging and records retention processes; assess charges and adjust fees where required. Assist callers with general functional and operational question related to the Web Info System and CE Registration System. Develop and maintain a personal desk procedure manual with both Credit and Non-credit procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent.
Two years of student records or general office experience. (Postsecondary education in any field may substitute for up to 1 year of the required experience. Fifteen semester hours are equivalent to six months of experience.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications.
