The Instructor reports to the Department Chair for Business and Industrial Technology. Duties include teaching economics courses and completing all duties associated with full-time teaching. Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize documented student learning. Develop, update, and post course syllabi in a timely manner. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and/or online classes. Locations may include the Port Arthur campus, dual enrollment/Early College High School, and/or Correctional Facilities. Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree in any field with eighteen (18) graduate hours in Economics. Ability to deal with students, faculty, and staff members in professional manner. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, speak, listen, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, pull and carry objects.
Working conditions are a typical classroom setting.
Master’s degree in Economics. Teaching experience in higher education. Teaching experience at a two-year college a plus.
Salary:Commensurate with experience, 9-month contract Non-tenure Track; Plus Excellent Benefits.
Work Hours:Dependent upon class schedule. Courses may be scheduled during the day or evening.
