This team administers the PeopleSoft application infrastructure for the university’s Campus Solutions, Human Resources, and Financials applications.
Learn about our departments: Information Technology Services (ITS) Northwest Regional Data Center (NWRDC) Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) Responsibilities Provides guidance and leadership in analysis, support and maintenance of FSU PeopleSoft Enterprise Systems (including but not limited to: HCM, FSCM, Campus Solutions, EPM, and Portal) as well as any third party applications that help support the PeopleSoft environments such as automation and change control software (currently AUTOMIC and PHIRE), and third party applications that integrate with existing PeopleSoft Enterprise applications (such as ERP Firewall, PeopleMobile and SmartERP). Take lead in identifying and implementing improvements and enhancements to the FSU PeopleSoft Enterprise Systems. Lead efforts to align the architecture of enterprise applications to an evolving technology landscape. Mentors and develops other members of the PeopleSoft Administration Team and promotes an overall atmosphere of cohesiveness and productivity.Provides senior level guidance and direction to the research, analysis, support and integration of the middleware tiers of the multiple PeopleSoft systems. Oversees and works with functional resources to provide problem resolution, upgrades, and implementation across the entire FSU PeopleSoft applications suite. Serves as the lead in identifying and implementing improvements and enhancements to the FSU Peoplesoft systems. Provides support and troubleshooting and assumes lead during testing/conversions/upgrades.Mentors and develops team members. Promotes atmosphere of cohesiveness and productivity. Provides leadership in the direction of application support standards and procedures. Provides leadership in aligning PeopleSoft and other enterprise applications to University architectural standards.Assumes overall administrative responsibility for all FSU PeopleSoft middleware components that comprise the FSU PeopleSoft application domains including but not limited to web servers, application servers, process scheduler servers, search, upgrade, and other supporting servers . Assesses the integrated impact of new applications across multiple PeopleSoft systems and evaluates and implements solutions to meet performance requirements.Relies on extensive experience and seasoned judgment to oversee and optimize the performance, enhancements, and reliability of the FSU PeopleSoft systems by testing and monitoring their performance, troubleshooting, and tuning the application parameters as needed. This includes researching errors and applying appropriate patches/fixes as necessary. Creates and maintains documentation pertaining to custom processes and procedures. Takes the lead on analyzing and resolving issues and recommends configuration changes as necessary. Establish strategic vendor relationships to enable more resilient support of FSU's PeopleSoft applications suite.Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and five years experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and nine years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to nine years.)Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to convey technical information to technical and non- technical users.Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.Ability to document existing and new processes.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.Ability to utilize problem solving skills.Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.Knowledge of reporting techniques and exposure to reporting tools.Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field.Knowledge of PeopleSoft development and interfacing methodology.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
