The laboratory of Arjun Deb, in the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for an Adjunct Assistant Professor position. Candidate must have a Ph.D. with demonstrable cardiovascular research experience, a minimum of 6 years of experience in the fields of cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Candidate must have expertise in small animal echocardiography, strain imaging and have comprehensive knowledge and expertise in biochemical assays, nucleotide biochemistry, metabolism, animal models of heart injury, confocal microscopy and bulk and single cell RNA-seq. Candidate should be highly proficient and have strong hands-on experience with rodent echocardiography, and invasive cardiac hemodynamic tools in the models of cardiovascular disease, significant experience in the design, execution, and analysis of high throughput screening for small molecular and therapeutic antibodies, and a very strong track record of in vivo humanized antibody therapy for cardiovascular disease. Candidate should have expert knowledge of purine and pyrimidine metabolism and will be expected to lead a cutting edge program in cardiac metabolism under the supervision of Dr. Deb. Candidate will coach, train, and provide guidance to students and junior researchers.
