Job Description:

The College of Pharmacy is looking for an End User Computing Specialist II to provide support for Faculty, Staff and Students for the College of Pharmacy, CoM: Physiology and Aging and Lake Nona Orlando Pharmacy facility. IT support provided in a highly technical academic and research environment. This position requires lengthy phone/email support, extensive customer support outreach (offices and research labs) and documentation of departmental work processes and technical setup procedures.

Duties include:

COP/Physiology and Aging Technical support
  • Provide technical support to COP faculty and staff members by phone and in person for software, hardware, email and network related issues.
  • Setup newly purchased Apple equipment.
  • Image new Windows Workstations.
  • Deploy workstations, printers and other devices as needed.
  • Setup new laptops and tablets purchased for faculty or staff to meet UF Security standards (updates, encryption, antivirus, domain-managed, etc.).
  • Assist faculty and staff with mobile device issues (smartphones, laptops, etc).
  • Assist faculty and staff with issues related to the “UF” wireless network.
  • Assist faculty and staff with issues related to the Health Science Center secure wifi, “hnet-secure” EduRoam.
  • Register devices for network through IPAM/INFOBLOX.
  • Travel to several sites on Gainesville Campus weekly or bi-weekly and periodically make trips to the Jacksonville and Orlando Pharmacy campuses during an academic semester.

Assist Pharmacy IT Property Manager
  • Maintain College of Pharmacy IT Department, Video Production Services, Physiology and Aging property records using Pharmacy IT inventory system.
  • Track and process faculty and staff assigned IT property. Track returned equipment.
  • Keep storage room clean and organized.
  • Communicate with the College of Pharmacy Logistics to survey obsolete property.

College of Pharmacy/Physiology End Point Management
  • Keep informed of new Security Updates for patching and updating of end point systems.
  • Push out approved patches and updates via JAMF, Airwatch.

Phone setup
  • Assist with getting new phones set up for faculty and staff members.
  • Communicate phone needs of college personnel to UF Campus Telecommunications, resetting voicemail passwords, setting display name, adding phone options, line configuration, etc.
  • Deploy new and replacement phones as needed.

Media Support MDL Gainesville Classroom
  • Assist students with mobile device issues.
  • Assist students with issues related to the “UF” wireless network.
  • Provide basic hardware and encryption support and advice to students.

Training Documentation
  • Creating training/support documents for COP IT services.
  • Update existing documents as services change.
  • Post these documents (where applicable) to the COP IT departmental website, http://it.pharmacy.ufl.edu

Expected Salary:

Up to $45,000 commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma and six years of any combination of relevant experience, education and/or certification.

HIPAA knowledge

Strong communication skills
