End User Computing Spec II

Job Description:

Provides infrastructure and technical support for UF Research; serves as the IT liaison between UF Research and support areas. Works with the IS development team in defining system requirements and specifications to support application development. Maintains and manages inventory control and configuration.

Provides additional support for work stations, hand-held devices, RFID scanners, printers, etc.; Coordinates hardware/software purchases, provides emergency IT assistance. Assists the senior staff with assessing hardware and software needs and provides input for the division's strategic plan for computer support.

Provides support for UF Research end point infrastructure. Works with the infrastructure team lead to coordinate and backup office wide services.

Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$39,700 - $55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Documented working knowledge of networking technologies and preferred industry practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems and software is required. Ability to install and configure a wide range of peripherals and software on a variety of devices.

Working knowledge of smart mobile devices and applications. Knowledge of the basic terminology, concepts and techniques of data processing and computer programming. Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems, interpret technical information relating to computer hardware and software.

Ability to effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective work relationships with others. Knowledge of and demonstrable experience in delivering consistent and stable production-level services is preferred.

Ability to organize and manage complex activities and to complete assignments in a timely fashion with attention to detail and accuracy with exceptional interpersonal, and communication skills are preferred.
