Job Summary
The Director's primary goal is to provide leadership in all aspects of interprofessional healthcare simulation instruction of the center; including meeting the strategic goals of the Simulation Center; to improve the quality of healthcare, improve the patient safety outcomes and work with all clinical disciplines and partners to promote best practice utilization of simulation in clinical education and research locally and nationally. Under the direction of the Vice Provost, chief of Academic & Research Technology, and the leadership of each health science college, the center Director will provide comprehensive technical and research support to faculty and clinical collaborators as a multi-disciplinarily and inter-professional center.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to: General Responsibilities The Director's primary goal is to provide leadership in all aspects of inter-professional healthcare simulation instruction of the center; including meeting the strategic goals of the Simulation Center; to improve the quality of healthcare, improve the patient safety outcomes and work with all clinical disciplines and partners to promote best practice utilization of simulation in clinical education and research locally and nationally. Under the direction of the Vice Provost, the center Director will provide comprehensive technical and research support to faculty and clinical collaborators as a multi-disciplinarily and inter-professional center.

Compliance with Patient/Family-Centered Care standards Demonstrates dignity and respect for patient and family for patient and family knowledge, values, beliefs, and cultural background in the planning and delivery of care. Provides information sharing, ensuring patients and families receive timely, complete, and accurate information in order to effectively participate in care and decision-making. Encourages patient and family participation in care and decision-making at the level they choose. Promotes collaboration with patients and families in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation in health care facility design, professional education, and delivery of care.

Leadership Reports to and seeks guidance from University leadership and ISC Steering Committee in determining and meeting the strategic goals of the Center. Seeks guidance from the lnter-professional Simulation Advisory committee. Reports to the appropriate college leadership for simulation "best practices" in their academic programs. Develops professional development strategies and plans. Leads and supervises the training, development and performance standards of the administrative and operational staff of the Center.

Collaboration Learns, understands, supports, and contributes to simulation "best practices" policies and methods established b the lnter-professional Simulation Advisory Committee. Supports and contributes to local, statewide, and national course development and research agendas. Supports and contributes to local, statewide, and national economic commercialization projects/opportunities in simulation. Provides leadership and instruction in the use of simulation with the University and its collaborative partners. Leads the continued development of course development activities including testing of simulation curriculum and scenarios. Integrates simulation educational multidisciplinary programs. Trains faculty and clinicians in the use of simulation; development of research initiatives related to the efficacy of simulation in learning.

Research & Grants Participates and contributes in the research opportunities related to health care simulation. Plans research projects and use of appropriate research and project management resources to meet research goals Assists and/or lead all aspects of assigned research proposals and projects including: Grant development IRB applications Defining research problems and protocols Data collection Data analysis Literature reviews Research publications and manuscript production Collaborate with outside vendors on research projects Participate in professional and educational activities to create/enhance a simulation knowledge base.

Administrative ManagementMonitors job performance of faculty, junior faculty and other contributors Oversees the technical support for faculty to ensure quality assurance of simulation scenarios, course materials and relevance of training Develops and implement simulation lab policies, procedures and practices Assists with the development of alumni relations activities Teams with the lnter-professional Simulation Committee, faculty, management and other stakeholders to achieve annual goals and outcome based initiatives Provides data and/or reports to stakeholders and other relevant institutions Leads the overall administrative and operational management of the center.

Technical Acts as an expert user and trainer of all simulators (high and low fidelity) and associated software programs Acts as an expert user in all other technical aspects Acts as an expert in the use of the learning management system Acts as an expert in sophisticated virtual OR and conference capabilities.

Required Qualifications
Requires a Masters from an accredited college or university in educational technology, healthcare field (with technology experience), or related degree; experience using simulation, experience in curriculum development. Educational research experience desired. In depth knowledge of current trends in simulation centers. Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders, such as faculty members; staff, administrators, students and external agencies.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
