OPS Website & Media Support Assistant- As Needed

Job Description:

The Office of Academic Support (OAS) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as our Website and Media Support Assistant (MSA). This part-time OPS position (student or non-student) will work as part of the OAS team to maintain and develop web content, create and oversee media and marketing materials, and develop and promote OAS content for website, literature, and social media. In addition, the candidate is expected to offer a creative strategy and vision for future communications for OAS. The MSA will also manage social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for all OAS events and relevant updates. The MSA is expected to work approximately 20-30 hours weekly.

The MSA will have various duties, which include, but are not limited to, the following:

Producing and designing OAS flyers, handouts, brochures, and other marketing or promotional materials

Utilize Photoshop, PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Suite and other creative design software to produce graphics and media content.

Posting regularly on OAS social media accounts to promote student engagement

Capturing photographs at OAS events for future media-related content

Updating OAS office display monitors with upcoming events and information

Managing minor design and user interface components of our OAS website

Project/Task Management:

Applies basic project management concepts and establishes procedures

Develops, monitors, and adjusts project plans per the Director's oversight

Set milestones to meet deadlines and produce quality deliverables

Manages multiple tasks concurrently

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience with content management systems, media publications, communications and social media

Experience with web design and development, routine site and content maintenance, and various updates to ensure site aligns with the goals and objectives of the unit

Demonstrated application and experience (must include a portfolio (may contain previously designed website, flyers, brochure, or media content).

Preferred Qualifications:

An ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with foundational communications knowledge and a passion for working with multimedia platforms.

A high level of Creativity; organized, effective communication skills.

Terminal 4 and WordPress for webpage development

Previous experience creating and maintaining websites for a business.

Well-versed in a variety of software that helps create media content (Adobe creative suite, Canva, etc.); and attention to detail.

An educational background related to advertising, media relations, marketing, computer science or graphic design is preferred.
