Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering.

Planning for Disruptions: Improving Reliability and Resource Allocation in Public Transport is a funded project by Science Foundation Ireland. This project consists of two phases, a Concept Phase (6 months) and a Seed Phase (12 months). The goal of the project is to develop a solution that will support the development and integration of a real-time predictive model for public transportation in Dublin, Ireland. In addition, a resource allocation framework will be designed to assist service providers in meeting the customer demands.

The role will involve interviewing stakeholders, process mapping, and data collection related to public transport. The research assistant is also expected to conduct literature review and identify practices that are adopted in other cities to benchmark against those within Ireland.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

Salary Range: 29,275 - 39,158 per annum (Pro Rata if Part Time 0.25 FTE)

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on 6th June 2023.
