The School of Biology & Environmental Science at University College Dublin is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Applied Ecology & Environmental Biology. The School offers a diverse portfolio of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including BSc degrees in Environmental Biology and taught MSc degrees in Applied Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability (Online) Global Change Biology, with this post being strongly aligned to teaching and project supervision in these programmes.

We are looking for a candidate who has a demonstrated passion for teaching and student engagement and training in field-based investigations, with research expertise in the broad area of applied environmental biology. We are especially interested in research on causes, processes, and consequences of ecosystem degradation with a strong focus on global environmental change and ecological protection/restoration in the context of multiple anthropogenic stressors. The candidate should complement and engage with current academic staff and research programmes within the School and wider UCD community.

Candidates should have a PhD in an appropriate discipline and alongside their teaching and administration duties, will have the opportunity to develop their own research agenda.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
