Job Overview

The UC Center for Business Analytics (CBA) is searching for an Executive Director at 80% FTE.

The UC CBA was founded 11 years ago to create an ecosystem for business analytics and data science among students, faculty, practitioners, and leaders seeking to build sustainable analytics capability in their organizations. The CBA has been recognized for its excellence in connecting academia to industry practice in analytics. The CBA provides four types of services to member organizations: leadership forums, conferences, professional development training courses, and student projects. The Executive Director of the CBA is expected to provide leadership in each of these areas with a focus on CBA member recruitment and retention.

The CBA is financially supported by organization members who provide revenue in exchange for benefits in the four areas provided by the CBA (leadership forums, conferences, training courses and projects). The Executive Director of the CBA is expected to develop new membership relationships and to ensure satisfaction of current members. To identify potential new members for the Center, it is expected that the Executive Director will actively network and prospect for new members and market the activities provided by the Center to potential members. To maintain satisfaction of current members, it is expected that the Executive Director will actively measure member satisfaction, address deficiencies in satisfaction as the arise, and identify opportunities for providing additional value for Center members.

Additionally, the Executive Director is expected to contribute to each service area provided by the CBA as described below.

This position will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office/2 days work from home) for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY following 90 days of training. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

The goal of these forums is to provide an opportunity for networking, benchmarking, topical discussions, and best-practice sharing. Many of these forums are conducted virtually.
  • Conferences: The CBA organizes two conferences per year: the Data Science Symposium and the Analytics Summit. The Executive Director is expected to help identify speakers for these events and, in conjunction with other Center staff, to plan and successfully execute these conferences.
  • Professional Development Training Courses: The CBA provides public and private professional training courses on a variety of analytics-related tools and methods. The Executive Director is expected to provide oversight of Center staff charged with delivering these courses to ensure that professional training courses are being executed successfully and provide supporting revenue for the Center.
