IT Software Analyst II

Office of Information Technology

The University of Tennessee, Office of Information Technology Applications Group is seeking applicants for the position of IT Software Analyst 2. Market Range: MR11

Description: The IT Software Analyst 2 manages and participates in the complex and mission-critical technical analysis, design, modification, development, testing and documenting of complex software solutions that will execute independently or as part of a larger information system under the direction of senior staff. Business processes include programming to support the administrative, academic, and research mission of the University. This position will report to the IT Manager, Business Information Systems.



Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, deploys, designs, tests, and leads medium to large scope projects under the direction of senior staff
  • Independently analyzes and solves complex technical problems
  • Work with campus project partners to help define needs, often across multiple functional areas
  • Use innovative solutions to solve problems and modifies solutions when competing policies are present
  • Perform maintenance, upgrades, and testing of enterprise applications
  • Enhance, expand and extend current application/systems to add new functionality
  • Manage licenses for purchased products and software
  • Develop documentation as necessary to complete specific assignments
  • Coordinate system upgrades for purchased software solutions
  • Research emerging technical trends and techniques
  • Perform other related duties as required

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years applicable experience
  • Three (3) years of analyst or application design and development experience
  • Experience maintaining and supporting enterprise applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Document Management or Workflow Automation systems
  • Documented analytical and testing skills
  • Ability to effectively collabarate across teams and with external vendors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer-service oriented; and a demonstrated flexibility with a variety of applications and user requests.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal technical supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education working on university wide, large scale projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Hyland OnBase Document Management System in Higher Education Experience analyzing and developing workflows
  • Demonstrated knowledge of use of SQL
  • Must be well spoken, creative, and motivated
  • Familiarity with Banner
  • Familiarity with NextGen Dynamic Forms
