Description:

We currently have a postdoctoral research position open for qualified candidates who have experience in organic synthesis. We are looking for an individual who can synthesize (conduct multi-step synthesis) and then effectively analyze the function of their engineered compounds with respect to solving important problems at the interface of supramolecular chemistry with polymers/materials, or biology. Previous knowledge on the synthetic preparation of oligonucleotides or macrocyclic hosts, solution and surface characterization techniques, absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies, and molecular recognition, is a plus. Experience in mentoring undergraduate/graduate students, leading lab safety efforts, and demonstrated laboratory leadership, will be considered favorably.

Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemistry required. 
  • Four or more year’s research experience in one or more of the following: Synthetic organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, oligonucleotide synthesis, DNA supramolecular chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, and polymer or materials chemistries.
