JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's Gantt Multicultural Center is looking for an Associate Director - Multicultural Community Development to fulfill the following duties:

  • Oversees and manages the development, implementation, coordination, and assessment of programs and services to strengthen and sustain an inclusive campus community, as set forth in Clemson University's Anti-Harassment and Non-Discrimination Policy and other University policies that provide, for example and without limitation, support and welcoming of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.
  • Provides community-building initiatives between and among diverse communities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:

50% - Essential - Educational, Social, and Supportive Programming:

Develops, implements, promotes, and assesses programs designed to increase campus awareness and support of various identities, orientations, and expressions. Coordinates large and small-scale programs, as well as education and training. Coordinates community-building programs and initiatives to build bridges between and among diverse communities. Develops partnerships with students, university departments, and community organizations to facilitate programming.

20% - Essential - Advising:

Upon request, serves as the staff adviser for student affinity groups, and provides leadership development for student officers and members. Mentors and facilitates the growth and establishment of campus-based affinity organizations.

15% - Essential - Support and assistance:

Serves as a resource for all members of the campus community to promote a more inclusive campus, as set forth (for example) in the University's Anti-Harassment and Nondiscrimination Policy. The position's focus includes but is not limited to identity, orientation, expression, and fostering alliances. Monitors, updates and reviews various measures of the campus climate, and uses results to advocate, make recommendations, and lead efforts to build a more inclusive Clemson University community.

10% - Essential - Collaboration and Outreach:

Collaborates with the Gantt Multicultural Center and other university and community partners to create an integrated approach to the delivery of programs and services. Serves as a contributing member of the Gantt Multicultural Center, meeting regularly with supervisor, attending staff meetings, participating in departmental committees, and developing and supporting internal collaborations. Serves on university committees and task forces as appropriate.

5% - Essential - Fiscal Management:

Monitors area budget, ensuring that programs and services stay within the allocations and that expenditures are consistent with University policies and procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary 05 ($ 35,360.00 - $ 55,000.00)

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
