ResponsibilitiesThis position manages New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) signature programs and works closely with Academic Partners on Orientation logistics.
Manage the NSFP Sections of the University's first-year seminar course, including the selection, recruitment, and training of Peer Navigators and 27 instructors. Serves as instructor on record for all SLS2206 course each semester. Develop curriculum and conduct research for overall effectiveness and satisfaction. Works closely with the DSA Marketing Team regarding the marketing of the course, including all e-blasts, social media advertising, face-to-face information sessions, etc.
Assist with the logistics and planning of approximately 30 orientation sessions, which are attended by 16,000 students and families annually. Manage the scheduling of campus partners for presentations and information sessions. Lead the marketing efforts for four major university publications (Holopaw, Family Calendar, Family Guide, Transitions Guide), including working with campus/community partners to secure outside funding sources and sponsorships. Oversee the Express Orientation process. Manages logistics of Orientation Sessions.
Supervises at least one graduate assistant during the academic year and may supervise OPS throughout the year including recruitment, selection, and training. Facilitates the hiring/compensation paperwork process in coordination with the Program Associate. May assist with the Orientation Leader supervision as needed.
Manages back end technological aspects of NSFP to include Visual Zen Orientation, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pre-Orientation Modules, etc.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in student affairs, higher education, or related field and four years of appropriate experience. (Note: post-high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize and evaluate meetings and/or events.
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
- Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
