Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 9 with a minimum of $15.43. Hourly rate offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty by providing clerical and administrative support to the Student Access & Disability Services office. Work is distinguished by the ability to perform well defined, semi-routine functions with supervision and requires basic technical knowledge of the department. General supervision is received from the Director of ADA, Student Access & Disability Services.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Good knowledge in Microsoft Office software and use of the Internet.
3. Working skill in written and verbal communication and customer service.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Some knowledge in using databases, including enterprise-wide databases (e.g. Datatel).

Essential Duties:

  1. Receive, sort, file and retrieve forms, correspondence and documents, exercising discretion when working with confidential information.
  2. Compile reports and summaries of work; update, check and complete records, forms and documents.
  3. Verify discrepancies and make corrections.
  4. Process documents to update and maintain files/records.
  5. Research records and disburse information.
  6. Establish and maintain filing systems.
  7. Compose, format and type routine correspondence, reports and other documents.
  8. Provide general reception duties.
  9. Answer and route telephone calls.
  10. Coordinate calendars, schedules, training, travel arrangements, meetings and special events.
  11. Maintain or process account records, accounts receivable or accounts payable. May monitor, reconcile or process transfers for budget accounts.
  12. Operate a variety of office equipment.
  13. Order office and program supplies, including arranging for equipment maintenance.
  14. Orient, train or back up other clerical staff.

1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Streamwood Center: In 1998, the college and Village of Streamwood remodeled the lower level of Village Hall to include computer and general purpose classrooms. Classes offered there make it easier for those who live in the eastern portions of ECC’s district to attend college.

Satelitte Campuses: ECC holds classes throughout the northwest suburbs at off-campus locations scattered across the district. Whether it is a medical center where ECC nursing students assist in patient care, a fire station where students transform into prospective lifesavers, or a nearby forest preserve where bird watching takes over on Saturday mornings, ECC classes are somewhere nearby.
