Role Description

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to train and develop an apprentice to be able to provide IT support to students, staff and associates across the University.

The role is hands on and requires problem solving, creative thinking, maintaining equipment and helping students, staff and associates to make best use of the IT Services provided.

About You

You will have a good standard of education evidenced by up to 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (old grade C) and above including Mathematics and English (or equivalent level qualifications)

You will also have a keen interest in IT and be prepared to study and commit to an Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship

A basic knowledge of computers and software, such as Microsoft Office and Teams, will be necessary for both study and work activities.

You will be dependable and reliable with an enthusiastic and customer focused aptitude.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within engineering and the technical workforce and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

To further demonstrate our commitment to progressing gender diversity in STEM, we hold an Institutional Athena SWAN Bronze award, are members of Working Families, sponsors of International Women in Engineering Day and signatories of the Women in Defence and Women in Aerospace and Aviation Charters.
