Position Description:
Under the direction of the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) the Research and Finance Manager is responsible for the budgetary and financial management of the International Institute and its 25 member centers and programs; leads a team of fund managers to serve all centers and programs as well as the Institute as a whole in budget, finance, and accounting functions in a centralized financial structure. Prepares organizational financial analysis and budget reports. Performs high level budget analysis. Participates in long-range planning of the Institute by preparing financial and statistical reports and advising Assistant Vice Provost/CFAO on accounting policy and procedure matters. Supervises fund managers by recruiting, training, reviewing transactions, and evaluating performance. Serves as Research Manager to the International Institute and Proposal & Award Resource Center (PARC) Lead and is the point of contact between Principal Investigators and campus contract and grant administrators. Oversees pre-and post-award administration of contracts and grants for the International Institute, and a number of campus professional schools including Anderson School of Management, School of Arts and Architecture and School of Law. Interfaces with campus business offices to facilitate complex financial transactions, consult on policy issues, and solve problems. Act as the Institute's liaison in the establishment and management of Sales and Service accounts. Incumbent serves as divisional Departmental Security Administrator (DSA).
