Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Financial Aid for University Scholarships is primarily responsible for managing all institutional scholarships in collaboration with University Advancement and the Office of Budget and Finance. The Associate Director will be responsible for ensuring over $7M in institutional funding is awarded in accordance with all institutional, state, and federal regulations and in alignment with donor specifications. They must build strong collaborative relationships with campus partners to support the administration of departmental and program specific scholarships. This position will supervise the Scholarship Award Analyst and serve as a liaison for the Office of Financial Aid for multiple groups included but not limited to the Office of Admissions, University Advancement including the Foundation, and the Office of Budget and Finance. The Associate Director will also oversee the University’s scholarship database and along with the Scholarship Award Analyst provide training and support for campus partners in award management.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Master’s degree. May also consider a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Three years of related experience in admissions, scholarships, financial aid, or scholarship programs.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Master’s degree and three years of related experience.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Blackbaud Award Manager.
  • Experience with Banner and Slate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Experience working with a HigherEd database software such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Award Manager, or other similar software.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Experience with budgeting, budget projections, and fund reconciliation.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, build trust, and develop relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate with academic units to effectively award and leverage a decentralized scholarship award process.
  • Work history of proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Work experience showing strong organization skills.
