Job Title: Education Partnership Development and Operations Executive

Reporting Relationship: Executive Director, Partnership Development & Operations

Unit: National & Global

Campus Location: This position will need to be remote with residence within the State of Texas.

Summary of Position: The Education Development Executive engages in partnership attraction, development, and retention activities that align educational partner needs with university offerings. The activities should lead to new and developing enrollment pipelines for teacher training and education programs with a clear operational focus on execution, senior-level account management, and ongoing relationship management with the school districts. After the agreements are executed, this position manages the orientation and launch with the district and will be the primary field contact for the school districts and partner, with the support of IWU units. This work is done through collaboration with internal teams, engagement with external entities, and routine travel within the State of Texas and surrounding regions. The position collaborates with the VP for Student Experience & External Relations to develop and nurture key relationships.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Market Awareness
    • In concert with the current priorities, identifies prospective partners within the assigned geographic region
    • Strategically engages in organization and community awareness activities (e.g., education meetings, conferences, industry-focused associations, etc.)
    • Identifies and executes lead generation events, experiences, or products to support market awareness
  • Partnership Development
    • Aids the VP for Student Experience & External Relations in partnership development
    • Uses the IWU-prescribed sales/development methodology as the framework to present teacher training and education solutions to prospective partners
    • Executes contact and development strategies to engage prospective partners, nurture key relationships, present IWU N&G offerings, and guide the prospective partner through the development funnel, and increase enrollment
    • Collaborates with the appropriate IWU teams to administer legal agreements for new partners, utilizing existing templates
    • Manages and focuses on successful closure of the partnership development process, leading to contract signing, orientation, and launch of partnerships
    • Executes these strategies with the goal to meet performance targets, including number of partnerships and students enrolled in degrees
  • Operations & Relationship Management
    • Serves as the primary relationship manager for partnering organizations
    • Liaisons between these entities and internal IWU teams. Supports communication, student and partner support, and prior learning assessment processes
    • Aids the VP for Student Experience & External Relations in operations and relationship management
  • Data Management
    • Tracks lead and contact data to support reporting, trend analysis, and relationship management
    • Develops and tracks weekly, monthly, and annual benchmarks that support development goals
    • Maintains an accurate accounting of all partners in the various tracking systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Required. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required
  • Preferred. A master’s degree in education, business, leadership, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Preferred. Teacher licensed in the state of Texas

Experience

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in sales, account management, marketing, and/or business-to-business development is preferred. Experience in teaching at the elementary or secondary level is preferred
  • Successful delivery of sales results in a business-to-business modality
  • Experience in lead generation and experiential (i.e., events) marketing is preferred
  • Experience or awareness of education systems is preferred

Required Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required for sales, negotiation, account management, and interpersonal relationships
  • Solid grasp of key business sectors, including at least one of the following: manufacturing, retail, service, healthcare, and food services
  • Ability to align industry business needs with training and education strategies
  • Ability to consult with the various business sectors and promote wins for partners and individuals
  • Ability to analyze business opportunities, create strategies, and analyze risk and potential
  • Ability to manage contractual negotiations within established terms and conditions
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Excellent planning and execution capabilities
  • Strong self-motivation and time management skills to ensure personal performance
