Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires current Illinois residency to apply.
The Morris University Center (MUC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant will provide support to the Accounting Associate and Accountant II for preparation of sales and financial reports. This individual will reconcile Starbucks gift card system on a daily and monthly basis to both university documents and external bank documents, input daily franchise sales information into both internal spreadsheets and external on line portals and provide weekly franchise sales information to corporate via requested method. The successful candidate will remit weekly and monthly franchise fee information to Accounting Officer for payment, enter deposit and credit card information from the cash area into the appropriate spreadsheet and verify correctness. Additionally, The Accounting Assistant will provide this information to Accountant I at the end of the month, update on a daily basis the monthly Dining sales spreadsheet and balance to register system. Further duties will be added based on the needs of the department.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
A. Course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
6 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
B. Course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
3. Work experience in bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.
