Job Summary

The Grant Support Assistant provides administrative support to the department with the day-to-day operations of the grant.

This is a temporary grant funded position through June 30 year 2026 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions.

This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports the function and overall operation of the department or grant; provides administrative and clerical assistance
  • Answers phone calls, screens callers, and relays messages
  • Maintains correspondence and supplies
  • Assists and prepares budget reports and reimbursements and handles confidential information
  • Prepares payroll for part-time and full-time staff
  • Prepares department requisitions, disbursements, and duplication requests
  • Greets and provides information to visitors and students
  • Guides the work of part-time personnel
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Associates of Arts degree in related field from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in related clerical work in a large office environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and organize priorities
  • Ability to type 40 wpm
  • Knowledge of the principles of office management and supervision and ability to apply this knowledge to work problems
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to keep complex records and prepare periodic reports from such records
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
