Summary

The Technology & Facilities Manager has primary responsibility for assisting with facility operations and technology management for Newcomb Institute. The manager will oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment for all meeting and public spaces and workstations. The manager will assist with event set-ups and breakdowns as needed. The Manager will also be responsible for maintaining and tracking inventories and preventative maintenance for facility furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). The manager hires, trains, and manages student workers and student interns related to technology support and facilities maintenance. The manager also provides leadership for the strategic and operational management of technology and technology-related initiatives at the Newcomb Institute. The manager manages all aspects of IT needs for the Newcomb Institute, including administration, events, systems, project management, development and implementation of policies and procedures, and also supervises student delivery of user support services.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technology or STEM field required by date of hire, or degree in a related field with 3 years of related facilities operations and/or audio-visual technology support experience. • Two years’ experience with desktop support in a mixed-platform environment including Macintosh or Windows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree preferred.• Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with diverse client base.• Skilled knowledge of operation and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment. • Knowledge, training, and experience in event operations. • Commitment to developing technology skills among underrepresented groups. • Knowledge of women’s and/or gender studies, women in higher education, or women in science and technology.
