Job Summary
Performs advanced administrative and technical work in support of clinical research trials. Manages several large, multi-center, investigator-initiated, federal and industry sponsored clinical trials.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepares new clinical trial research protocols for IRB submission, in compliance with all applicable regulatory and policies of FDA, DHHS, ICH, state of Georgia, AU, and AUMC. Coordinates activities with respective campus departments to ensure successful study execution.
  • Performs regulatory activities associated with the ongoing management of current clinical research protocols, including, but not limited to, protocol amendments, financial disclosure, protocol deviations, protocol departures, adverse events.
  • Responsible for uploading regulatory documents into OnCore and IRBnet. Provides regulatory support to cancer center clinical investigators and clinical staff. Acts as a liaison between clinical trial sponsors (or contract research organizations), clinical investigators, and the IRB, and coordinate efforts towards the start- up and ongoing conduction of a clinical trial until close out of study.
  • Creates and maintains training schedule for Cancer Center research faculty and staff related to research compliance best practices. Assists with finding and distributing continuing education requirement opportunities. Performs quality control regulatory inspections of cancer center clinical trials to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
Ph.D. from an accredited college or university with a minimum of one year directly applicable experience; previous supervisory experience. OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of five years' progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience; or major coursework completed on a Ph.D. in a related scientific field with two years of progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of eight years' progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Clinical Research Professional/Associated/etc. certificates

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Detail-oriented; Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Grade: R16
Salary Minimum: $41,846 - Midpoint: $58,584
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Recruitment Period: 5/19/23 - 5/26/23
