Department of Psychology

Assistant or Associate Professor, Neuropsychology Ph.D. Program

The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position that begins Fall 2023.

Our department offers didactic and research training in neuropsychology at the doctoral level. This program provides students with a scientific understanding of human behavior as it relates to normal and abnormal functioning of the central nervous system. It also introduces students to a wide range of procedures and techniques used to study the neural bases of cognitive, affective, motivational, and behavioral processes.  This program focuses on the dynamic interplay between the brain and physical health, especially as this relationship is brought to bear on issues related to racial and ethnic health disparities.  The goal of our program is to equip students for research careers as neuropsychologists in academic and research settings.  We seek outstanding applicants with a demonstrated track record of excellence in research and teaching. Successful candidates are expected to develop vigorous, extramurally funded research programs in their areas of expertise, publish in scholarly journals, actively participate in the Department's teaching and curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Evidence of interest and success in mentoring underrepresented students is highly desired.
