The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of common outpatient neurologic diagnoses as well as excellence in acute management of inpatient neurologic problems. Teaching responsibilities may include a leadership role in student and resident supervision as well as curricular development across all Penn sites. The successful candidate will be the Director of Interdisciplinary Teaching Programs, coordinating programs across all sites. Major teaching responsibilities may include supervision of approximately 30 PSOM students rotating on the required clinical clerkship annually, oversight of the lecture series for the Family Medicine residency, and development of the outpatient component of the program along with the special neurology track for Primary Care Program students at the Presbyterian Medical Center site. Also at the Presbyterian site, a responsibility will include overseeing growth of the inpatient and outpatient neurologic faculty. At the Pennsylvania Hospital site, development of a neurology curriculum for internal medicine residents and at all sites coordination of interdisciplinary and interprofessional curricula will be a major focus.

Clinical responsibilities may include divided obligations among the three teaching hospitals of the department. It will include both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities with flexible division of these components based on departmental needs and candidate strengths. Growth and development of the neurology faculty at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center site will be a major responsibility.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
